Fractal Forest INNER CHILD's debut EP is a delightful collection of experimental tracks. Our journey begins with the wonderfully textured "Betty", before being taken through the dark and mystical "Other World" and ending on the aquatic soundscapes of "Infinite Love". Favorite track: Infinite Love.

Betty was the most wonderful creature in the universe, and I am so grateful that I had her in my life. She was born blind on one eye and was dumped out on the street. When we took her in, she was so tiny yet smelled so horribly, but even then I couldn’t kick her out of my bed that she kept climbing into. As she grew bigger, she took more and more space on our bed, but at least then she smelled like cookies (well, most of the time). She had a profound sense of smell and taste which was beyond my comprehension. She often seemed clumsy and silly, but she was probably just playing with her friends I couldn’t see. I'm sure it all made sense to her, as I am also sure I often didn’t make sense to her, nevertheless she always trusted me. The first time I took her to the sea she just threw herself into it – I guess she felt that I feel at home in the big blue. We went on all kinds of adventures together and played all sorts of games, although by different rules. I believe she thought that the purpose of playing with a ball was for humans to run after it. Humans that didn’t know her thought she was a dog, but those who did, knew she was a magical creature made out of pure love which evolved from a number of different species (rabbit, cat, seal, dragon… to name a few). Over the years different people called her by different names borrowed from other creatures. To me she always was and always will be my baby, who, with all her imperfections, is absolutely perfect. I never met anyone who loved me and trusted me so unconditionally, and I never loved anyone else like that.

My baby was thirteen human years old when she left this world, but her spirit was as young as ever. Not until three weeks after she went missing was she found. During these weeks I travelled through space and time from the craziest states of fear, worry, denial, acceptance… to the states of consciousness I didn’t even know existed. I had two of the strangest experiences in my life. The first one was when my baby came for me to be with her while she was leaving this world. Words cannot describe that. The second one happened a week after that on my birthday. Somehow, I slipped into her body and saw her world through her ears. I heard sounds I never heard before, with different frequencies, shapes and feelings to them, and this music came out of it. It probably sounds extremely odd to a human ear, but I tried to make it as close to what I heard with the very limited tools and skills I have. Perhaps others can also get a glimpse into the weird and wonderful world of Betty, or at least get a sense that there are worlds other than the one we can perceive.

Thank you my baby for teaching me about infinite love that goes beyond this world!
